RENOVATIONS & ADAPTIVE REUSE

Our practice through the years has expanded to include major adaptive reuse and renovation projects involving building interiors, including historic, adapted for new uses in character with their architectural spatial and design vocabulary.

Shepard Hall CUNY City College New York City, NY Shepard Hall contains 296,000 SF of space including the massive auditorium at the center of the building called the "Great Hall". The building has a 4-story base with three towers rising to 8 stories. The objective of this substantial project was to update the interiors of this large building to present-day standards, both architecturally and mechanically, and to create a teaching center for the Performing Arts. The building contains classrooms, two large recital halls, the Communication Department with film and video emphasized, the Theater Department with practice spaces and special teaching room. The building also contains a large music library, a center for legal education, the alumni association offices and Deans` offices. The mechanical and electrical for the entire complex of teaching and training spaces was fully upgraded. Awards: NY Landmarks Conservancy Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award. |
